For the recommended 10 - 20 submissions for the special issue of Sensing and Imaging, three Best Paper Awards from Sensing and Imaging, a journal of Springer Nature, will be awarded, with one award for each of the following three categories:

• sensing technology;
• imaging technology;
• sensing and imaging applications.

After the evaluation by experts, the results of the best papers are announced as follows:

• sensing technology: Xiao Peng, Qihui Liu, Fei Xie, Yaochen Zhu, Jiangong Cheng, Hao Chen and Zhenyu Wu, Integrated Diamond Quantum Sensor towards Biomedical Applications (Submission #65);
• imaging technology: Ze Liu, Yukang Wang, Chunliang Ma, Yunxiang Li and Shouhua Luo, RetinexCT-Net: A Method for Suppressing Brightness Inconsistency Artifacts in Multi-Source Static CT (Submission #61);
• sensing and imaging applications: Ruohua Shi, Zhaochen Liu, Lingyu Duan and Tingting Jiang, Amodal Segmentation for Laparoscopic Surgery Video Instruments (Submission #28).

In addition to a certificate, each awardee will receive a book voucher to order books from Springer Nature with a total cost not more than 300 euros. When you submit your manuscript, please indicate that you are willing to enter the best paper awards competition.
